Outfit of the Day OOTD: Hard and Soft

Hi everyone! It has been a very long time since I did an outfit of the day (OOTD). I really loved today's outfit and thought it would be very appropriate to do a blog post on. Let me know if you would like to see more outfit posts. I went thrifting at Goodwill yesterday and picked up this adorable baggy sweater shirt that I really wanted to style today.

My inspiration for this outfit:
I wanted to mix edgy and soft textures and colors.
I wanted to have a loose top with tight pants and tight combat boots.

Here's a photo of the top up close. The detailing looks like little hearts, which I thought was very Valentine's Day appropriate.

I used the cream top with darker purple/grayish black pants/ and black boots. The top brings a freshness to the rest of the outfit.

I paired the soft top with this heavy, edgy chain necklace. This top could have also been paired with a scarf if you want to stay warm outside.

Top:
Goodwill

Purple top - Wet Seal

Necklace:
Rue21 on clearance

Pants:
Gap

Boots:
Shoe Encore Brand Pink and Pepper

Here are some upclose shots of the boots. They lace up the front and have some metal detailing on the side.

Outfit of the Day: Edgy Summer Look

Hi everyone! I know that I haven't been on here in awhile, but I am definitely still going to be posting. Today, I have an outfit of the day for you. I wanted to do an edgy look that is fun and can be worn for summer. I found these fantastic shoes at a shoe store around here. The chain strap was broken on the left shoe, but my husband knew that it would be an easy fix. Because the strap was broken, I was able to purchase these shoes for only $4! It was definitely a steal! I really wanted to incorporate the new shoes into a look, so here's what I came up with!

 White Shirt: Forever21
Vest: New York and Company
Shorts: Thrifted
Shoes: The brand is called Xappeal
Necklace: Given to me from my bestie in New Mexico
Watch: Charming Charlie

They are sort of a cross between flats and gladiator sandals.

Not too bad for $4 shoes!

Here's a better shot of the necklace!
I took my hubby's wallet chain thing he has had forever and attached the guitar charm from my best friend and TA-DA!

Outfit of the Day - Color Blocking

As most of you probably know, color blocking is huge for this season. Color blocking consists of pairing several colors together, while still keeping a cohesive look together. I recently bought these awesome green shorts that I thought would be perfect to do a color blocking outfit of the day with. When using green shorts to color block, be sure to stay away from a red top to avoid looking Christmas-y. Any other bright colors would compliment green shorts. I chose this coral cardigan and some  yellow flip flops to keep the look casual and relaxed.
I hope you all enjoy this look! Be sure to follow me and comment below!
These earrings were sent to me from my lovely friend in New Mexico. They have a studded back and are pretty comfortable to wear.

The cardigan and white tank are both from Forever21.
The shorts were thrifted from Plato's Closet. The owl necklace was also thrifted from there.

The flip flops are from Old Navy. I absolutely love their flip flops.

I paired this look with a really soft face and a pop of yellow eyeshadow.
Eyes:
BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette for the yellow and highlight color
Urban Decay Naked Palette for the Nude

the lips are a lip gloss from Ulta

Outfit of the Day

Hi lovelies! I wanted to do another outfit of the day for the spring time. This outfit is inspired by music festivals. I think this outfit is super comfortable and would be a nice light, airy dress that could easily be worn to a music concert, such as Warped Tour this summer.
The dress and shoes:
Forever 21

The belt:
Kohls (attached to a pair of shorts)

Earrings:
From my best friend from a place in New Mexico

You could also pair this dress with cowboy boots to match the belt. I wanted to keep the outfit more casual, so I went with the white flats.

Let me know what you think of this outfit of the day and if you would like to see more outfits of the day!

Outfit of the Day - Polka Dots

Hi guys! I thought it would be really neat to do an outfit of the day for you. Polka dots are in for this spring season, so I thought it would be fun to do an outfit using them. I chose this purse to add a pop of color to the outfit. Colors are always fun for spring!

Dress: H&M
Cardigan: H&M
Necklace: not sure, I've had that necklace forever!
Shoes: Payless
Purse: Kathy Van Zeeland

Let me know what you think of this outfit and if you would like to see more outfits of the day. :)

I also wanted to include a close up of the makeup, in case you were wanting to see it. I think coral lipstick is a softer alternative to red, so I chose it for this outfit. I'm also using Garnier's BB Cream, which I am absolutely in love with. I'll be posting a full review on the BB cream soon enough.
