FOTD: Red and Black

I know that the fashion rule is to NOT wear red eye shadow. I saw a tutorial from Pixiwoo (on youtube) where one of the ladies said that you can wear red eye shadow if you line your eyes pretty darkly with black or some other dark color. I wanted to take a try at it and see how it came out. This look is pretty dramatic, so I paired it with a rather subtle lip. I think that it is OK to break fashion or makeup rules. Makeup, to me, is about having fun and expressing myself.

Breaking No Makeup November

Last year during November, my friend and I engaged in No Makeup November. I was able to successfully go the entire month without makeup. This year has been much more of a struggle due to my skin going crazy and repeatedly breaking out. I decided to do a purple lip for class today after I evened out my horrible skin. This was the result. The photo quality is not the best, but it will have to do.

FOTD: Fall Inspired

With the weather changing, I have realized that my makeup is changing. I am going toward darker, more natural eyes. I wanted to share this look that I created today using brown, burgundy, green, and black. I think these colors are very fall appropriate. In the photo on the left, the lighting is natural without flash. The other two photos were taken with flash outside. I like to give you guys two different perspectives on the looks that I do. I hope you guys liked this look! Let me know if you want more Fall inspired looks!

FOTD: Blue Smokey Look for Fall

Today's makeup look is one that I thought went very well for Fall. It is soft and smokey and a bit darker than I would wear in the summer time. I'm wearing a navy dress to class today, so I thought this makeup would be a good compliment. I kept the cheeks and lips pretty neutral to keep the eyes as the center focus. I did lightly contour my cheeks to add some definition and color. I do get pretty fair skinned in the colder months due to my lack of being outside. Here's the look. Let me know what you think and if you want a tutorial.

FOTD: Oil Slick Inspired

Yesterday I saw this photo of this makeup and I absolutely fell in love with it and wanted to re-create it. I  have been feeling in a bit of a makeup rut. With working again, I have mostly been doing neutral looks. It felt really good to get out and do something a little more dramatic. I made the rest of my face very neutral to balance out the heavy eye makeup.

FOTD: Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

I just purchased the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette. I have to say that this is probably the best neutral palette that I own for brown eyes. The greens really compliment my brown eyes. The shadows are sooo creamy and pigmented. Let me know if I should do a review on this palette. Here's the work appropriate look that I did for my job today.

The photo to the right was taken in natural lighting without flash.
