Depotting Wet n Wild Shadows

Happy Saturday lovelies! I decided to share my first attempts at depotting eyeshadows with you all. I will show you what I created and give you some background on how I did it. The above photo is a wallet that I converted into a makeup palette. I bought it for $2 at Rue21. You can buy these wallets that snap closed pretty much anywhere. I went to Rue21 because I was able to buy them 2 for $10 and that one was on clearance. 

Here is the inside of the palette from up above. I depotted my Wet n Wild shadows using the method below.

Steps to depot: 

1. Heat your oven to approximately 215-220 degrees Fahrenheit. 

2. Put down aluminum foil onto a baking pan

3. Place your eyeshadow palettes OPEN on top of the aluminum foil

4. Bake in your oven for about 5 minutes (you may need more for the larger Wet n Wild palettes)

5. Remove from oven

6. Take a knife and try to pry the shadows out from the corner where the pan connects to the palette. *If it does not come loose, put back into oven for a few more minutes*

7. Be patient

8. Continue Process until all shadows are dislodged from their original palettes

9. Gut your wallet by ripping out the inside pockets.

10. Buy magnet strips or some type of magnet and super glue them to the bottom of the wallet.

11. Attach magnets with super glue to the back of each pan to ensure that they will not come loose.

12. Arrange how you want in your palette.

13. Enjoy and be happy!

Here's what some of the shadows look like once they were popped out of their original pans.

I do recommend grieving the loss of any shadows that were destroyed during the process. As you can tell, some of my shadows were damaged during the process. 

Here is the second palette that I created. I put the more damaged shadows into this one.

Review: Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks

 Hello everyone! I finally decided to finish up my Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick review. I had been putting it off because I was hoping my opinion on this product would change, but it did not. Above you can see the four shades that I have: Dollhouse Pink, Just Peachy, Rosebud, and Purty Persimmon. There are a lot more colors in the line, but I only picked up these four. These retail for about $1.99 at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc. 

Packaging: 5/10 The packaging to the Wet n Wild Megalast lipsticks is nothing special. They come in these black tubes with a clear plastic lid. The clear lid is nice because you can see the color. Despite this, I find that the lipstick often touches the clear lid, making it look nasty. The lipstick is very flat, as you can tell. 

Here are swatches of the four colors. 

These lipsticks are very pigmented, as you can tell by the swatches. They are also very matte.

Rosebud is a dusty rose color.

Dollhouse Pink is a very bright, cool toned pink.

 Just Peachy is my favorite color of these. It is a great peach for my pale skin tone. 

Purty Persimmon is a orange/red color. 

Review: 

Application: 5/10

I find that the WetnWild Megalast Lipsticks are difficult to apply due to their flat shape. I often find myself ending up outside of the lines and having to wipe it off. The lipsticks are very thick and tend to stick to every line and dry patch in my lips. I do not find that these blend very well with my lips either due to the thickness and heavy pigmentation. They block out your entire lips, so you have to be careful with the application. 

Pigmentation: 10/10

No doubt that these WetnWild Megalast Lipsticks are pigmented. They are incredibly pigmented to the point of blocking out your entire lip color. For the price, you can't beat the pigmentation.

Texture: 6/10

These lipsticks are 100% matte. If you like that, great! If not, you won't like these. The texture is very thick and heavy. I can definitely feel these sitting on my lips. Kinda feels like you have some thick food stuck to your lips. These lipsticks are incredibly drying. I find that even with adding vaseline, they are still fairly drying. If your lips never get dry, go for these.

Lasting Power ?

I am unsure how to rate these on lasting power because my lips always become so dry that I end up wiping them off after about an hour or so. 

Color Selection: 9/10

This range of lipsticks comes in a variety of colors from reds, purple, neutrals, and pinks. 

Overall: 6.5/10

These lipsticks are very pigmented, but they are very very drying. I find these to be hard to apply. I would not repurchase these. Let me know what you think of these!

FOTD: Orange Lip

I don't know about all of you, but I am dying for Spring to come. I am getting somewhat tired of darker makeup. I really needed to create a look that was bright and fun. Something that reminded me of Spring time. The first thought that came to my mind was an orange lip. I wore Revlon Lip Butter in Tuitti Fruitti almost the entire last Spring. I absolutely love that color. Since I am in the process of trying out the WetnWild Megalast Lipcolors, I thought I would try the coral of the bunch.

First Attempt at Bright Pink Lips

Good Saturday afternoon! I wanted to bring another face of the day post with my first time using my new WetnWild Megalast Lipstick in Dollhouse Pink. I thought it would be kind of a fun thing to try out because I do not own any lipsticks in a bright pink shade. 

Because the color was so dramatic and bright, I blotted the color down to this. I think that it is a lot more wearable once blotted down.

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette Review

 Today's review is on the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette. I have had this palette for awhile, but I have yet to do a review with swatches. I want to start off by saying this is my favorite drugstore neutral palette for brown eyes. 

The palette has two columns that I use for one eye look. I do like to use the shade on the top left instead of the grey shade on the right side to do an everyday look with. 

This palette is very, very silky and smooth. I love the colors. They are very pigmented and stay on very well with an eye primer (Too Faced Shadow Insurance or ELF Eyelid Primer). 



Below are the swatches of the palette. I started at the top left and worked down the palette to show the swatches. As you can tell, the shadows have a sheen to them. They are not glittery, but are buttery. Similar to Urban Decay shadows, but these are much more affordable. 







I wanted to take a closer swatch of the light green color in the palette, as it is my absolute favorite color in the palette.
I think that this color makes brown eyes really POP. I did a look awhile back using this palette where I used this green color.

I would rate this palette a 10/10. It is only $4.99 at CVS, Rite Aide, etc. I would definitely recommend going to pick it up!

FOTD: Fall Inspired

With the weather changing, I have realized that my makeup is changing. I am going toward darker, more natural eyes. I wanted to share this look that I created today using brown, burgundy, green, and black. I think these colors are very fall appropriate. In the photo on the left, the lighting is natural without flash. The other two photos were taken with flash outside. I like to give you guys two different perspectives on the looks that I do. FOTD: Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

 I just purchased the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette. I have to say that this is probably the best neutral palette that I own for brown eyes. The greens really compliment my brown eyes. The shadows are sooo creamy and pigmented. Let me know if I should do a review on this palette. Here's the work appropriate look that I did for my job today.

 I've got another Face of the Day using the Sigma Paris Palette. I also used one shade from the Urban Decay original Naked Palette. I was able to get my hubby to take these pics, so they are all in high quality. If you haven't purchased the Sigma Paris Palette yet, I would highly recommend it. FOTD From the Sigma Paris Palette

Today's Face of the Day is featuring the new, limited edition Sigma Paris Palette. I am in love with this palette, as you probably know by my previous review. I thought it would be fun to do a look using this palette. I also had my hubby take these photos with a high quality camera, so you can see what these colors really look like in really awesome quality! FOTD/Tutorial: Green and Black Liner

 Hi everyone! Today was my very first time trying cream (gel) liner, so I thought it would be fun to do look using it. CVS is having a 2/$3 sale on WetnWild eye, lips, or nail products. I purchased Wet n Wild Mega Eyes creme liner in black, which I used for this look. I also purchased the WetnWild Cool as a Cucumber trio. This is my first time ever using WetnWild eyeshadow. Be sure to stay tuned for a review on my opinions on the products. I'll be sure to do a full review of them later!
How I did this look:
1. Prime your eyes. I used ELF eyelid primer. You can purchase it at Target for $1 and I love it!

2. Using the gel liner, create a cat eye/winged liner that goes up from your lower lash line. This will give the shape in the photo to the left. 

3. Line your lower lash line about halfway over.

4. Using a smudger brush (I use mine from BH Cosmetics), smudge the outside corner of the shape you have created. Also be sure to smudge the eyeliner across your lower lash line. The lines should be soft, but not messy. Be sure to clean up any smudging that gets too out of the shape. I like to clean the shape up by taking a face wipe and wiping in the same up direction from my lower lash line (just like when creating the cateye).

5. Using a small brush, pack the dark green from the Wet n Wild Cool as a Cucumber trio on top of the black liner that you have created. You want to focus the color on the outer 1/2 of the lid. Be sure that the color is not too high on your lid because you want the shape to look like eyeliner still. 

6. Take the smudger brush and smudge out the green shadow to create a softer effect. You can also use a blending brush to soften it up. 

7. Curl lashes and apply mascara. I applied my mascara more heavily on the outer corner of the eye to emphasize the cat eye more.

8. Clean up any fallout under your eye.

9. Apply Garnier BB cream all over your face. Set the BB cream with a translucent powder. I like to set my BB cream with NYC's translucent powder. Keep the cheeks somewhat dewy.

10. Apply blush to the top of your cheek bones. I used ULTA cheek color in flush. Contour with bronzer as wanted/needed.

11. Apply lip color. I used Wet n Wild Megashield Lip color in 369S Salsa Lessons.
