Nails from the last two weeks!

This first set of nails is what I currently have on. This polish is Essie Van D'go. This has got to be one of the prettiest peachy pinks I have seen. I think it is very Spring appropriate and is subtle enough to wear around the office. It is also my first "higher end" nail polish.

Here we have Ulta's Vintage Violet. I was expecting to love this color a lot more, but I didn't really feel that impressed by the actual shade of purple. This may just be because I am not really a purple person. Either way, here's the polish I wore on  my Spring Break trip.

Nails: Poppy with Glitter

Today's nails are using the Ulta polish in Eye Popping Poppy and a sponged on glitter polish from the Wet n Wild Spoiled line. I wanted something fun and springy that was somewhat girly. This is what I was able to come up with! Let me know what your thoughts are and what nail looks you might want to see in the future.

Nail Polish Haul

I wanted to show you guys all of the new polishes I just received today from my Ulta.com order. Ulta had these polishes on sale for $2, so I decided to pick up these ten shades.

From Left to right:
Set the Nude: Color is a light taupe. Very work appropriate
On Taupe of the World: This is yet another taupe but is quite a lot darker than the first shade.
Vintage Violet: This is a pale purple
Cream of the Crop: This is a very light yellow. On the pastel side of things.
Sun-Sational: This is a very bold yellow.
Limelight: A medium green
Peach Parfait: A pastel orange/coral color
Showgirl: A bold pink
Eye Popping Poppy: This name is pretty self-descriptive. It is a poppy color that is very vibrant.
Little Black Dress: A black with some sparkle in it.

FOTD: Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

I just purchased the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette. I have to say that this is probably the best neutral palette that I own for brown eyes. The greens really compliment my brown eyes. The shadows are sooo creamy and pigmented. Let me know if I should do a review on this palette. Here's the work appropriate look that I did for my job today.

The photo to the right was taken in natural lighting without flash.

FOTD: Blue and Black

Today's look is a little darker than what I would normally wear for spring. I had a Revlon eyeshadow laying around that I had only used once, so I thought it would be nice to try it out for today. I'll just be running some errands (going to UPS, Walmart, etc) today. Nothing that I really needed to get dolled up, but playing with makeup is so much fun! I also thought this look was a way to wear blue eyeshadow without looking like a middle school girl who just learned what makeup was lol! I toned down the blue by adding a soft cream colored highlight and some black to add depth at the outer-v area. Since the eyes are more intense, I paired it with a soft peach cheek and a glossy neutral lip.

I hope that you all enjoy this look! Let me know what you think of it!

Makeup Challenge - St. Patrick's Day

Hi lovelies! I did not have a chance to post my St. Patrick's Day makeup that I wore yesterday, so here it finally is. I wanted to create the look using different colors of green, rather than using green to compliment. I really love the color green as it is, so this look was really fun. I would definitely do this look again to wear on another day.

Makeup Challenge - Fruit Inspired + New Haircut!

Hi everyone! I am sooo excited to do this post today. I cut and dyed my hair yesterday for the first time in about a year. I've had trims, but I haven't actually cut it. I am so happy with the cut and the new color.

My hair had gotten to be very unhealthy from a bleaching that I did back in June of 2011. We also have really hard water here at my new apartment, which makes it so difficult to keep my hair beautiful and shiny. I was able to find some hair products that kept my hair from getting any worse (review to come on these soon!), but it's really difficult to repair your hair when there is that much damage. I had bleached my hair many times before and not had that problem, but I think that last bleaching was the straw that broke the camel's back. I am so incredibly excited to show you all my makeup challenge for the day that showcases my new hair. :)
For today's challenge, the theme was fruit inspired. I wanted a look that could be wearable, but that still showed a fruit inspiration behind it. I decided to use a kiwi as my inspiration. I really love the different colors of the kiwi fruit. I also really enjoy eating kiwis, so this look was a good one to try. I am really happy with how this look came out. I just layered the different colors on top of each other, just like a kiwi. I started with a light color, built to a green, and then finished with a sparkly brown. I hope that you all like the look, as well as my new haircut. Please, let me know what you think of everything. :)

FOTD: Day at the Beach

Hi everyone! I wanted to create a spring look inspired by a day at the beach. The weather where I live is extremely unpredictable, so I am always wishing it was warmer/sunnier out. I wanted the face to be light and "sun-kissed" and the eyes to be bright and pink/peach tones.

I used BH Cosmetics 88 standard shimmer for the eyes and ULTA's baked bronzer (radiance) to give the bronze glow
I also used an Ulta Blush (unsure of name) - from the free gift pack they just did

New Ulta Makeup

Hi everyone! Yesterday I went to Ulta for the first time in about a month. I haven't ever purchased anything from their brand, so I was unsure how well I would like it. I spent $18 on Ulta products to qualify for the free gift of their products. I will do a haul later to show everything that I got, but for now I wanted to share a look that I created using my new products. I am wearing a peach blush for the first time ever. I'm still a little unsure how it looks on me, so if you could let me know what you think about the blush, that would be wonderful. I also tried contouring my face for the first time using a new bronzer that I bought yesterday. I'm not sure if it made any difference in my face either. I did take these pictures in my dark basement apartment, so that may be changing how these colors would look. The lipstick is from Nyx, and I am absolutely in love with the color. I will be doing a haul on about 8 lipsticks that I have purchased from them, so stay tuned for that!
